Elderly Housing project nearing completion
The second phase of the Elderly Housing addition is nearing completion and will begin housing residents within the next few weeks.
The 24 unit housing project will feature some of the latest advances in energy efficency. All units are constructed from Structural insulated panels (SIP) which were all manufacted by a SIP plant located in Wetumka and operated by the Muscogee Nation
The duplex units will be equipped with the latest in Geothermal Heating and cooling systems which should help keep the living area at a comfortable temperature using very little electricity during both the winter and summer seasons.
The Muscogee Nation received the funding for the project as a competitive stimulus grant in which the tribe optedĀ to develop energy efficent housing for the elderly. The grant is part of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
